(T)HERE

Identity and art book

The common theme of the art book is around displacement reflected in contemporary artwork that call attention to displacement as a disruption in the continuity of place, relationships, identity, movement, and memory.

The title (T)HERE is fluid and can be read in different ways: There and Here, Here or There, There-Here, Not Here Nor There, and so on. This creates a sense of unsettlement and rootlessness.

With this theme in mind, I developed an identity and visual language that includes images as objects shifting and moving; edges cutting off, making us aware of the periphery; and uneven letter spacing in titles and artist names, thus creating a feeling of ‘not entirely here’ and ‘not entirely there’.
